
Isla Margarita is located in the state of Nueva Esparta, which also comprises the islands of Coche and Cubagua. Likewise, within the same marine jurisdiction we can find the archipelago of Los Frailes, conformed by the islands of Chepere, Guacaraida, Puerto Real (o isla Fraile Grande), Nabobo, Cominoto, Macarare, Guairiare, La balandra and Pecha.
El Farallón It is a rock formation that rises about 25 meters with average dephts of 10 meters. It is an ideal place for beginners and visibility varies between 10 and 20 meters. Its average temperature is 27 degrees Celsius
Los Frailes The spectacular islands have great conditions for diving.They are mostly rock formations, populated by significant numbers of múcuras, sponges and a rich fauna of tropical coral, barracudas, sharks, banks of pearl oysters. Visibility varies; during ideal conditions it can be up to 30 meters, with depths between 10 and 20 meters, in some spots dropping down to 40 meters The average water temperature is 27 degrees celsius. Los Frailes can be reached after a 45 boat ride from Margarita Island. Ecobuzos is one of the main operators in Margarita Island. Its boat, Salto Angel is anchored at one of the best Marinas. Cubagua Island. This is where the first city in Venezuela, Nueva Cadiz, was founded and was an important pearl harvesting center. This island offers beautiful pristine beaches and 2 shipwrecks next to each other. These wrecks are home to a large variety of fauna, made up of snappers, groupers, moray eels, trumpet fish and butterfly fish. Our divemasters will guide you in exploring these wrecks.
Los Testigos Located northeast of Margarita, it takes about 2 hours to get there by small boat. Los Testigos is a group of 7 islands, with pristine diving conditions and abundant marine life. The islands are very sparsly populated, which makes it an ideal paradise with few people and incredible beauty. The only way to get there is by charter boats. Please contact Ecobuzos to arrange transportation and diving in Los Testigos.
La Blanquilla Island Are 4 hours of navigation, we find this paradise of white sands and coral reefs. The conditions there are ideal for scuba diving, very comparable to Los Roques, since they belong to the same system of barrier reefs, with very similar characteristics. The reefs have drops down to 40 meters, with abundant marine life such as sponges, corals and reef fish, barracudas, reef sharks and it is also common to encounter turtles and rays.
Los Hermanos Archipielago conformed for a group of 6 islands that is home to sharks, barracudas and large marine fauna and flora. These islands are visited on the same trip Blanquilla Island. Travelling to this island is through special charters, which you can book with us with at least 4 days prior to your trip.
