IslandView2 The park was created in 1972 in order to protect a marine ecosystem of exceptional beauty and ecological value dominated by coral reefs, mangroves, and seagrass beds. Scuba divers looking for one of the best spots on the world to dive and experience marine life face to face will find in Los Roques a diving paradise. The Archipelago Los Roques 950 square miles of picturesque ocean water surrounding the 350 islands, cays and islets off Venezuela’s coast are ideal for divers of all levels, from beginners to professionals. With air temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s Farenheit, and ocean water temperatures that stays about 76º Fahrenheit throughout the year, makes it an ideal place to enjoy all year around. In the waters off Los Roques, you’ll find countless reefs, teeming with all types of fish and marine life, including soft corals, crustaceans, sea sponges, and sea whips. Beginning scuba divers can enjoy the scenic shallow reefs just off shore. Advanced and professional divers can explore breathtaking caves, drop-offs, and pinnacles in the ocean that you’ll remember for the rest of your life.  The coral reefs at the park host some of the most beautiful underwater fauna and flora of the Caribbean. In addition, Los Roques has exceptionally beautiful beaches of white sand and multicolor, crystalline warm waters which make it a diving paradise.

Due to the variety of islands, keys and inlets, you will find in Los Roques all possible kite conditions, from rolling swell and cruising from island to island, perfect smooth protected bays with off-shore winds to actual point breaks at some of the windward islands.
