Bonaire Scuba Diving

Bonaire is considered among the top 10 shore dive sites in the world. This island is located north-south and because geographical position, the whole west coast is protected from high surf and winds.  

Many divers go to Bonaire to admire the underwater world, the 55 different types of coral, 370 fish species and multiple dive sites with excellent condition. Bnaire has 86 different dive sites, 60 of which are locaed on the west coast. They can be reached by car, parking on the side of the road and carrying all the equipment, entering the water right there.  This is what is called "freedom of diving." The dive sites are marked by rocks painted bright yellow on each side of the road. The east coast is set apart for divers with high level of experience, because of the currents.  You also have the opportunity to see large species of marine life, such as manta rays and sharks.

A FEW DESCRIPTIONS

ANGEL CITY

Here you can find the Hilma Hooker wreck. This ship was sunk to be enjoyed by scuba divers.  It is located 30 meters below the surface, lying on the sandy bottom

1000 STEPS

This dive site  is actually located on the edge of a cliff, they are actually 64 steps but seem 1000 steps on the road after the dive. You can see a long, shallow terrace, stands patrol of many larger fish.

BUDDY`S REEF

One of the best reefs of Bonaire. It has a slope angle of 45 °, full of corals, some gorgonians, at a depth of 40 meters. There are many seahorses and frogfish, which make this reef their home.

SAMPLER

It has a depth of 30 meters, after a slope. Only accessible by boat, is located north of Klein, which is a small uninhabited island located off the west coast of Bonaire. There you can see turtles, octopus and lobsters.

LA DANNIA`S LEAP

Famous for passing a hill about 4.5 meters. For shore diving is little promoted, positively can be reached by boat. He is very distinguished for its beautiful canyons and plateaus of sand.
